U.S. Inauguration 1/20/21

The taking of the U.S. Presidential Oath is set by law for 12 Noon EST 1/20/21 in Washington, D.C.

This one moment is the culmination of a long, hotly contested, contentious election season that was years in the making. There are six charts presented here using the Tropical Zodiac, Placidus House system.

The "action" of the Inauguration’s Natal Chart moment takes place in the most social, global, political, philosophical 4th quadrant and houses 9-12 of the chart. The aspects include hard squares, tight conjunctions, and an intense Aquarian Stellium predominating, which require expert leadership and conscious guidance to elevate and produce the best of this chart’s energy. Yet the crucially profound and foundational influence on this chart is the character of the new Administration being inaugurated. I have provided both natal charts for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as theirs is the new energy on the rise from this moment forward.

Biden and Trump both have/had seas of people who support and wish to see particular ideals prevail. This will manifest not just on this signal and symbolic day, but over the coming four years. We saw what Trump chose to manifest, now we'll see what Biden chooses to manifest. Add this moment and timing to the most adhered-to birth charts for the U.S., (3 are shown below) and there is an arc of character that is growing, shifting and has the possibility of stumbling into maturity. We are not passive observers, we are participants.

Joe’s Scorpio and Kamala’s Libran adjacent suns are well-positioned for compatibility. Joe got along famously with Obama’s combination of fire and air (Leo-Gemini-Aquarius Sun Moon Rising) and that bodes well for Kamala’s Libra-Aries-Gemini variation on similar air and fire elements.

But lest we think Uncle Joe is some low-energy water-earth-fire mud pile, his fixed Scorpio Sun, Taurus Moon, and Sagittarius Rising are not to be trifled with on the public stage, when it counts. We saw it during the recent campaign when he occasionally delivered quiet, yet unexpectedly laser-confident claims of victory that directly came to be. No muss, no fuss. And who’d have thunk that he’d manage to corral his strongest former rivals into his own camp, (including his new Veep) galloping onward with them, well-saddled up for a new Administration.

The U.S. Charts, whether for our famed 1776 Revolutionary Birth, or our 1777 Governance Inception (passage of Articles of Confederation), all have the Sun in strong water signs (cardinal Cancer or fixed Scorpio). This makes for a nation slow to rile, often seeming passive or inattentive. But once an inflection point is triggered, lightning quick reactions or judgements seem to appear from nowhere. Did a gang of louts shockingly invade a poorly secured Capitol on January 6th? In less than a week, political blowback eradicated previous power bases that had seemed insurmountable. And two weeks later, the Inauguration proceeds, for our 46th President, on those very same Capitol steps.

Our next chapter of life in these United States begins. We’ll see where this new partnership invites us to go… who we as nation become next.
